
Allegheny County Police arrested a corrections officer for the Allegheny County Jail Thursday morning for allegedly selling drugs to inmates at the jail.
Police have charged 32-year-old Lewis Bagnato with contraband, delivery of controlled substances, possession with intent to deliver after an Internal Affairs investigation.
According to police, Bagnato allegedly brought contraband into the jail for inmates and would receive payment via third party.
The lab for the Allegheny County Medical Examiner's office tested the drugs and identified it as a schedule 1 synthetic cannabinoid.
The Kennedy Township resident has been a Corrections Officer for the Allegheny County Jail since December of 2019.
