A New Jersey man admitted to trafficking cocaine to Washington County.

Stephen Kaufman, acting U.S. Attorney, said 36-year-old James Vance pleaded guilty in federal court in Pittsburgh to conspiracy to distribute five kilograms or more of cocaine in the county.

The FBI and Pennsylvania State Police began an investigation of drug activity in Washington County utilizing wiretaps and physical surveillance in April of 2020.

The investigation showed that Vance distributed cocaine and heroin-fentanyl mixtures to associates and were redistributed in Washington County.

Sentencing for Vance is scheduled for September 14, 2021. He faces up to life in prison, a $10 million fine or both.
