PA State police have made an arrest in connection with what they call the brutal killing of a pet cat.
It happened Derry Township, Westmoreland County.
Police say 27-year-old Tyler Rost-Maiolie admitted to brutally killing the family's pet cat and throwing it into a fire pit.
According to court papers, police reported finding the dead feline significantly burned in the fire pit.
Rost-Maiolie is charged with aggravated animal cruelty, reckless and endangerment and related offenses.
A witness also told troopers that they saw Rost-Maiolie firing a gun in the air for a half hour.
Rost-Maiolie was transported to the Westmoreland County Prison on $50,000 bail.
