Originally, Allegheny County Police say a man was shot in the head in the 3100 block of Versailles Avenue shortly after 12:05 p.m.

The 47-year-old victim was taken to the hospital where he later died.

A 1 p.m., three adult males were found shot near the 50 building of McKeesport’s Crawford Village housing plane.

A 22-year-old man was pronounced dead on the scene. A 30-year-old was taken to the hospital in critical condition with a wound to the chest, an 18-year-old was taken in stable condition with a gunshot wound to the leg.

Detectives say the shootings are not connected and there is no current threat to the public.

McKeesport High School, Founder’s Hall Middle School and the elementary school were on a lockdown Wednesday following the reports of two separate shootings in the area.

The district says on its Facebook page that there is a heavy police presence in Crawford Village and Versailles Avenue.

The district says that there is no active shooter at the time and dismissal was delayed, beginning at 2:30 p.m.

McKeesport Mayor Michael Cherepko released the following statement Wednesday following the shooting:

“We have had another senseless act of violence in our community today. This impacts every person in our community, and we need to pull together in search of a solution to this violence. The hostility and bloodshed in our world today – not just here in the City of McKeesport – is more than a policing issue. It is a community issue, and that community is made up of every single one of us. Changing the circumstances that lead to these shootings – and curbing what I believe is an addiction to crime and violence – will only happen if we work together. That means coming together in our neighborhoods, our households, our churches, our community organizations, and all of the places where we become united as a community.”

This shooting comes just weeks after Officer Sean Sluganski was killed in the line of duty while responding to a call.

Another officer, Chuck Thomas, was wounded in the incident. He is currently recovering.
