Federal officials and local authorities are teaming up to remind travelers not to fly with firearms in their carry-ons.
U.S. Attorneys in Pittsburgh, Harrisburg and Philadelphia along with 67 sheriff's offices around the state are encouraging gun owners traveling with their weapons to make sure that they are in checked baggage as required by law.
Violators are subject to prosecution.
TSA agents at Pittsburgh International have collected 32 weapons from travelers at security checkpoints so far this year.
