Another prominent retailer on Shadyside’s Walnut Street is closing its doors after 30 years.

Banana Republic is the latest clothing store on Walnut to close.

The Pittsburgh Business Times reports the upscale clothing retailer, is set to close its store by the end of March.

It's vacating the Shadyside business district as the third retailer from the same group to close along Walnut following the Gap and Athleta.

They are all owned by San Francisco-based Gap Inc.

Gregg Perelman, founding partner and CEO of Walnut Capital Partners called the retail space at the corner of Walnut and Ivy a "Main and Main" and says Herky Pollock, president and CEO of Legacy Realty Partners is representing the space for lease.

Calls to Mr. Pollock for comment have not been returned.
