Over the summer, nearly 4,000 beagles were rescued from a mass breeding facility in Virginia.
The facility violated several Animal Welfare Act laws and many of the puppies were going to be send to animal testing laboratories across the United States.
Many shelters and animal rescues across the country took in the pups including facilities in Allegheny, Beaver, Butler and Washington Counties.
Heart of Glass Animal Rescue in the South Side tells KDKA Radio they took in 14 8-month old beagle puppies.
The rescue received four Beagles on August 8 and 10 on August 30.

Heart of Glass partners with the Humane Society, which is how they were able to welcome the “sweet” beagles into their rescue.
The beagles were given names like “Charlie’s Angels”, four beagles named Charlie, Natalie, Dylan and Alex and another ten were “Snow White, The Seven Dwarves, Prince and Charming.”
While the beagles were first scared when they arrived at the shelter, they quickly became “full of love and cuddles”.

The Humane Society says all 3,776 beagles have found forever homes.
