Brentwood schools on lockdown after shooting in area

Brentwood School District buildings are on a modified lockdown at the request of police after a shooting in the area.

On modified lockdown, no one can be let in or out of the buildings until it is lifted.

The district is assuring families that all students, faculty and staff are safe.

Brentwood Police say they were called to the 100 block of Hillson Avenue for a reported shooting.

They found a man shot in critical condition.

The suspect is identified as 45-year-old Joseph Luman.

Police stopped a vehicle matching the suspect’s description at the intersection of Route 51 and 88. After a brief pursuit.

Luman was not in the vehicle but a female wo was a witness to the shooting was. She was detained.

Detectives are working to obtain an arrest warrant with multiple agencies including the Allegheny County Police.

Anyone who sees Luman should call 911 and not approach him.
