Purple curbs in Pittsburgh are getting pushback from business owners.
Delivery and other drivers parking in a loading zone with a purple curb will be charged by the minute.
A spokesperson for Mayor Ed Gainey says the cost in just under 7 cents a minute.
On the Big K Morning Show, Mineo's Pizza owner John Mineo said he believes it will be bad business.
"What's a loading zone for? Well, it's for picking up a pizza, it's for my purveyors so you're going to charge my purveyors dropping off product for my business?" Mineo asked.
Around 30 of the new zones are planned.
Like the Turnpike, cameras capture license plate numbers and a bill is sent to the person the vehicle is registered to.
The city is testing the system until 2024, using a $100,000 grant to pay for it.
