Virtual career fair for Pittsburgh military veterans and spouses to be held Thursday

DAV and Bradley-Morris/RecruitMilitary are holding a virtual career fair for Pittsburgh's military veterans and spouses on Thursday.

The event will take place from 11am to 3pm on Thursday, October 8. Click here for complete details.

"At Bradley-Morris and RecruitMilitary, we care deeply about the military community we serve that includes job seekers, employers and our own team," said Chris Stevens, senior VP at RecruitMilitary.

"Given the guidance from the Centers for Disease Control regarding COVID-19, to protect the safety of everyone involved, we shifted all upcoming in-person hiring events into our virtual veteran career fair platform," he said. "Virtual hiring events are not new to us. We've been offering these types of events, in addition to digitally interactive resources, for several years. We're proud to continue serving those who need us during this time to secure employment and sustain workforce development."

Pennsylvania's unemployment rate fell more than two percentage points from July to 10.3 percent according to the Pennsylvania Department of Labor & Industry.

According to RecruitMilitary, the veteran unemployment rate is at 9 percent, up from 3 percent at this time last year.

The virtual career fair is free and open to all members of the military, past or present, as well as their spouses and dependents.
