A Fayette County caregiver has been arrested for assaulting a patient at an assisted living facility.
The incident allegedly took place at Penn Residential Inc. on Banning Road Friday morning after another employee reported that a non-verbal, autistic patient had been physically assaulted in his room.
It happened on the overnight shift.
Police say 28-year-old Stacy Williams did not report the patient having any injuries, but surveillance video from inside the room shows Williams pushing the victim, then pulling the patient off the bed by his feet.
Injuries to the victim included scratches and bruising to the knees and lower legs.
Williams is facing charges including simple assault and neglect of care of a patient.
