A Chinese restaurant in West Homestead has been ordered closed by the Allegheny County Health Department.

Me Lyng was ordered closed on Thursday.

The Chinese/Vietnamese fusion restaurant on West 8th Avenue was ordered closed due to sewage backup observed in food prep areas as well as evidence of reoccurring backups.

There was also lack of a grease trap and is not a certified food protection manager on staff.

In addition, the air conditioning was not working. The inspector reported it was 85 degrees inside the restaurant and that “makes it harder for refrigeration to function properly.”

As of Monday, July 17, the restaurant is still ordered closed.
