Demolition to the Blue Streak rollercoaster began on Tuesday.
Heavy equipment began the job on Tuesday morning, with a controlled burn to the wood following that as demolition continued.
Reports began to surface regarding a fire at the Blue Streak rollercoaster site, however, the general manager of Conneaut Lake Park clarified the situation on the site’s Facebook page.
According to the general manager, a mechanical issue occurred in the heavy equipment used to assist in the control of the burn, causing the fire to spread to the front of the loading dock. Fire officials were called to help control the situation.
No injuries were reported and the rest of the Blue Streak will be demolished in the next few days.
