Chinese restaurant in Pittsburgh area mall hit with consumer alert

A consumer alert has been issued for a Chinese restaurant in the Pittsburgh area.

A report from the Allegheny County Health Department shows various violations, including some marked “high risk” for the China Max restaurant on Robinson Center Drive, inside the Mall at Robinson.

The high risk violations include steamed and fried rice found in rice cookies contaminated by chipping and peeling of non-stick coating, chicken tights on the grill at 105 degrees (need to be at or above 135 degrees), raw chicken boxes used to store broccoli, dishes not sanitized, soiled rags on prep tables and other areas, slime accumulation on a sink, house-made sauce at 67 degrees that must be at 41 degrees or lower and more.

In total, there were 14 violations, five of them considered “high”.
