Two people are dead after an officer-involved shooting in Fayette County Tuesday evening.
Investigators say Connellsville Police were called to a home in the 2100 block of 2nd St. in South Connellsville around 5 p.m. for a welfare check.
When police arrived, a man let them in the house. Police then found a 45-year-old woman dead in the basement.
State police say when officers tried to detain the man, he allegedly resisted and fired his gun at them. Officers fired back and killed the 33-year-old man.
Police have not released the names of the deceased. The investigation is ongoing.
