A couple is being charged for locking up their children and limiting how much food they can have to eat.
Police went to Leanne and Nevin Lawson's home in Allegheny township following a 911 hang up back in January. They then decided to go interview the couples children at their schools. Police say the three children told details of how unhealthy the living situation is for them inside the home.
When police interviewed the children at their schools, they found the 9-year-old daughter wearing only a shirt for a dress and no tights when it 20 degrees outside that day.
The children are not in the custody of the parents. A no-contact order was placed as a condition of the parents' bond.
