Allegheny County is reporting a drop in new COVID-19 cases on Monday due to limited testing availability during the holidays last week.
In the past 48 hours, 594 new cases were reported to the health department out of 2,347 tests.
Of those cases, 19 are probable. New cases range in age from 1 to 98 years old with the median age 45.
The range of those positive cases range from December 18 through December 27 with five of those more than week old.
While numbers are lower the county says they do expect another increase.
"It likely does not reflect a decrease in the spread of the virus in the community. The Health Department does anticipate an increase in new cases due to the holidays," the county said in a daily update.
Four new deaths were reported in the past 48 hours, three people were in their 70s and one person with in their 90s. Two of those deaths were associated with long-term care facilities.

Since the beginning of the pandemic 51,453 people have been infected with coronavirus with 3,097 hospitalized and 857 deaths.
