PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA)The number of COVID-19 patients in Pittsburgh area hospitals is at the highest point in more than 10 months.
Allegheny County has just over 500 hospitalized COVID patients, that's up 58% in the past month.
Westmoreland County cases surged more than 64% in the same period with over 90 patients in hospitals.
A Tribune-Review report shows new cases are growing too. They're up over 14% in Westmoreland County and 13.2 in Allegheny County in the last month.
In terms of the number of residents getting COVID shots, Westmoreland reports 50% of the population is fully vaccinated.
In Allegheny County the number is almost 62.
