Chick-fil-A fans in the Cranberry area have had to travel a little further to get their fix lately.

The location at 1700 off Route 228 has been closed since September.

In a statement, Chick-fil-A said the location is closed for renovations "to improve the guest and team member experience."

An expanded, duel-lane drive-thru will reduce traffic in the area, allowing for additional cars.

Canopies will be added to protect from weather.

The dining room area is being updated along with "other enhancements."

The store will reopen before the end of the year, pending any construction delays.

The Chick-fil-A location in Robinson Township/North Fayette recently underwent a similar renovation.

Other Chick-fil-A locations around the country have added additional drive-thru to help with traffic and demand.

Chick-fil-A was the top-ranked fast food restaurant in America in a recent poll.
