UPDATE: Cranberry Township Police Lieutenant Chuck Mascellino tells KDKA Radio the unidentified suspect is wanted in connection to a shooting Sunday in New Brighton.
The vehicle’s vehicle was found in Cranberry, not far from the police station.
An officer engaged in a foot chase with the passenger of the vehicle but was able to get away.
The driver of the vehicle stayed with the vehicle and was arrested.
The man that escaped is considered the main suspect in the case.
Now, the New Brighton Police Department will be handling the case. The suspect is described as a black male, approximately 6 feet tall, 220 pounds, last seen wearing a red shirt and cargo pants, however he may have removed his shirt during the chase last evening.
A police search in Cranberry Township ended with a suspect still on the run.
A multi-agency search unfolded in Cranberry Township after a suspect connected to an earlier incident in New Brighton fled on foot.
Police located the vehicle the suspect was traveling in, but the individual escaped before officers could make an arrest.
After hours of searching, authorities believe the suspect is no longer in the area.
Residents are urged to “remain alert” and call 911 with any information.
