The Allegheny County DA determined police use of deadly force was justified in a Fawn Township police-involved shooting last year.
On October 31, State Police responded to a home on Shamrock Lane for a domestic incident.
After they arrived, 50-year-old Zachary Cervice showed up in his car.
Video shows the suspect in the driver's seat with an automatic weapon pointed at troopers.
Allegheny County DA Stephen Zappala said Cervice ignored commands to put the weapon down and got out of the car with the gun.
That's when troopers shot and killed him.
“Mr. Cervice was armed and dangerous, prepared to use the weapon and use the weapon on police officers,” said Zappala. “He’d previously hurt people and the two women who were in the house were hurt.”
Investigators say the suspect's mother and girlfriend were inside the home - seeking a safe place away from him. He was known to law enforcement from multiple priors.
