A Garfield woman is accused of stealing more than $200,000 from an elderly dementia patient.
The Allegheny County District Attorney's office says 80-year-old Susan Larkin is accused of depositing into her own account, a check worth $220,000 that she allegedly wrote from the victim's bank account.
Prosecutors say Larkin met the victim online in 2023 and moved in with him while he had been isolated from his children and family.
The $220,000 check was written once he moved back in with his son.
Investigators say Larkin is responsible for about $12,000 more in money taken from the victim.
