A new low-barrier Downtown homeless shelter is officially open.
Second Avenue Commons, a year-round shelter located on Second Avenue, opened Tuesday and will be available for overnight shelter.
The shelter has 95 beds, with capacity for 30 additional overflow beds.
It will also offer a daytime engagement center, and primary care clinic.
The opening had been delayed for construction completion due in part to supply chain problems.
People experiencing homelessness should call Allegheny Link at 1-866-730-2368
