Drama between Dr. Oz and Fetterman continues still without a debate

PITTSBURGH (100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) John Fetterman says he won't participate in an early-September U.S. Senate debate with Mehmet Oz.

The decision follows an Oz campaign release outlining concessions to be made if Fetterman agreed to a debate.

One was paying for additional medical personnel the Democrat might need.

Another included bathroom breaks during the debate and allowing Fetterman to have an earpiece to get information from his staff.

Fetterman says that made it "...clear ...they think it is funny to mock a stroke survivor."

A spokesperson for the Republican, responded by asking "so when will he debate? He won't ever say."

After doing no in-person campaigning for about three months after his stroke, Fetterman held a rally in Erie.

At the rally, Fetterman was sometimes unable to finish sentences or repeated words.

An Oz statement released Tuesday night says "John Fetterman's campaign is insulting the intelligence of Pennsylvania voters."

KDKA-TV Political Analyst Jon Delano gave his assessment of all this political drama:

"These are two campaigns that are going at each other, it's rather personal," Delano said. "I think some of the stuff is pretty silly. Let them go at each other, it's politics."
