A high school in Elizabeth township caught on fire early Sunday morning.

Crews arrived at 5:00 a.m. at Elizabeth Forward high school to combat the fire.

Flames and smoke were seen coming from the school's auditorium, which called for multiple trucks.

It's confirmed that their school will be closed for all operations on Monday, but the rest of the district will remain open.

At this point, it's still unclear how the fire started, though the Fire Marshall is still investigating and indicates no evidence of foul play.

The school officials are still determining their options for continuous learning for students.

"We don't want to send anybody too close to that in case it collapses or the roof comes down," explained Chief Jim Chabalie.
