According to the Allegheny County District Attorney's Office, 34-year-old Ashley Apperson of Leechburg is charged with multiple theft-related offenses after investigators say she stole nearly $300,000 from Ventec Refrigeration.
The criminal complaint alleges that while handling payroll, invoices and company finances, Apperson issued herself dozens of unauthorized checks and used a company credit card to pay personal expenses, including mortgage and car payments, vacations, and online gambling.
Apperson is scheduled for a preliminary hearing on July 6.
