Leaders in West Mifflin will decide today the fate of the abandoned Century III Mall. At a hearing Wednesday afternoon, borough officials will vote on condemning the building.
Those in favor point to escalating safety concerns, putting a strain on first responders, and also surging criminal activity.
There's been a significant increase in trespassing and vandalism.
The mall that opened in 1979 closed permanently in 2019.
