A Fayette County couple is accused of neglecting two cats and two dogs for months.
State Police were called to the Redstone Township home of Ryan Murphy and Paige Miske last month after reports of dead animals.
Troopers found two dead dogs inside and two severely dehydrated cats living in deplorable conditions.
Troopers said they saw a “deceased tan dog and two cats roaming freely inside” the home.”
Once inside, police say the tan dog was barricaded in a back room with planks and “no means of escape.”
The second dog, dark in color, was found dead inside a bedroom closet. One of the dogs had tried to chew through a mattress for a food source.
No food or water was accessible to the animals.
Murphy and Miske are facing numerous charges including aggravated cruelty to animals.
