Former President Donald Trump said Friday afternoon on the social media site Truth Social that he will be returning to Butler County.

Trump saying that he'll return to Butler for “a big and beautiful rally, honoring the soul of our beloved firefighting hero, Corey, and those brave patriots injured two weeks ago. What a day it will be, fight fight fight.”

Trump declined to give details on when and exactly where in Butler the campaign rally will be held.

A 20-year-old Bethel Park man named Thomas Matthew Crooks attempted to assassinate Trump during a rally on July 13 at the Butler Farm Show grounds.

A bullet grazed Trump’s ear. Retired firefighter Corey Comperatore was killed during the shooting.

Two other men were wounded during the attack.
