Fire on Mt Oliver street
Pittsburgh Public Safety

What started out as a two-alarm structure fire Sunday night on Mount Oliver Street in Pittsburgh quickly became a four-alarm fire. Four firefighters were injured.

Crews responded to the fire in the South Side shortly after 8pm Sunday. During the battle there were two collapses at the back of the building. A mayday had to be called and all firefighters were accounted for, though four were injured.

One had a minor burn. One was cut. Two others suffered shoulder injuries. All were taken to a local hospital for treatment.

In total, three buildings were affected by the fire. The middle building was the one on fire, while the two on either side were damaged by water and smoke.

Residents of all three were evacuated safely.

Crews got the fire under control shortly before 10:30p. The cause and origin of the fire is being investigated.
