
Pittsburgh grocery Giant Eagle has announced they’re lowering the price on over 1,000 items throughout the store.
It’s part of their Deals for Days, summer-long promotion. It begins on May 30 and runs through July 31.
The first products that customers will see lower prices on include hamburgers, hot dogs, friends and vegetables.
Some of the other items that will be at a lower price include, Skippy Chunky Peanut Butter, Jello, Chips Ahoy, Mussleman’s Applesauce and Giant Eagle Slaw.
Giant Eagle says in a release that lowered summer item prices will be followed up by deals for back to school, Halloween and more.
“At Giant Eagle, we are committed to listening and responding to our customers, and right now, they are telling us that they need more ways to save on the products that matter most to them,” said Brian Ferrier, Senior Vice President of Merchandising at Giant Eagle. “We’re confident that we have created meaningful savings across the store, helping ease budgets and encourage those summer celebrations we all enjoy.”
Giant Eagle says the program will save customers and estimated $7.5 million through the summer.
Food prices are up over 2.2 percent over the past year and have climbed since the pandemic.
“Giant Eagle’s Deals for Days product list features travel-ready essentials, picnic must-haves, cookout staples, and health and wellness products from national brands and the Giant Eagle brands,” the grocery said.
