A Pittsburgh man with a bench warrant has been arrested and his girlfriend is also charged after “hindering his apprehension.”
Allegheny County Sheriff Kevin Kraus’ office announced Friday that 20-year-old Rayshawn Poindexter has been on the run since may after the bench warrant was issued following a probation violation connected to a guilty plea on a firearms charge.
Sheriff’s detectives learned over the past couple of weeks that Poindexter was staying with his girlfriend inside a house on Vermont Avenue in Glassport.
On Thursday, detectives approached 20-year-old girlfriend Dominae Solomon near the house. She told police that Poindexter was not in the house and that she hadn’t seen him in two weeks, but they were free to search the house.
Poindexter was found in an upstairs bedroom, along with “bags of suspected drugs” and a large amount of cash.
After a search warrant was executed, police found a handgun, more drugs, including suspected fentanyl and over $16,000 in cash.
Both were taken to the Allegheny County Jail.
Solomon faces several drug charges, along with a count of hindering an arrest and a stolen gun charge.
Poindexter was arraigned on several earlier drug charges.
