A GoFundMe has been created to help the family of Shelby Rhodes hire a private investigator and cover related expenses in trying to locate him.
Rhodes disappeared following a house party on February 7.
His cell phone was found, but an extensive search of the Monongahela River over the weekend failed to find him in the water.
His sister Jessi told KDKA this week his disappearance makes no sense.
“From what I was told . . . he was in good spirits the entire night as everybody knows him to be and that he was not upset when he was leaving the house,” said Jessi.
As of Wednesday afternoon, $1,500 has been raised towards the fundraiser's $6,000 goal.
Shelby Rhodes is 5-foot-3, 125 pounds with red hair and beard. Anyone with any information should call Monongahela Police at 724-258-5511 or dial 911.
He was last seen at around 5 a.m. on Saturday, February 7 near the river. His phone was located a later on a river bank on the Monongahela.
