Tastyland, a popular ice cream shop in Greensburg, is opening a second location. This one is a little closer to Pittsburgh.
The second Tastyland will be located on William Penn Highway in Monroeville at the Miracle Mile Shopping Center.
In a Facebook post, the business says its going to be about an 8 to 12-month process before they start serving up cones, food and other treats.
Tastyland just recently opened in Greensburg for the 2024 season and beyond.
Open for nearly 75 years, Tastyland will now be open year-round thanks to an added drive-thru at the location on the 1400 block of Route 66.
Ryan with Tastyland tells KDKA Radio says there were several factors that went into installing the drive-thru.
“One, was because we lose money from closing and reopening every year,” said Ryan. “Two, we want to hire people year-round and provide consistent income to our staff.
Three, was because we hate wasting food and closing forces us to waste food. Now with being year-round we can continue being a near-zero food waste restaurant year-round.”
