Opposing groups rally outside State Rep. Natalie Mihalek's office

Two opposing groups rallied outside of State Rep. Natalie Mihalek's Upper St. Clair office today over Senate Bill 565.

It would allow concealed carry without a permit.

Josh Fleitman with CeaseFire PA believes the bill would cause more gun violence.

"Anybody in a public park, in a shopping mall, at a grocery story can be carrying a gun, concealed next to you and your child, without having gone through a basic vetting, permit safety process," said Fleitman. "That's wrong."

"Under coronavirus, many citizens couldn't even get a license to carry to protect themselves and that kind of arbitrary attitudes in licenses is really an anathema (something detested) to constitutional republics," said Stolfer.

Governor Tom Wolf says he will veto the bill if it reaches his desk.
