1Thing: Hard-to-recycle collection event being held on Saturday

PITTSBURGH (Newsradio 100.1 FM and AM 1020 KDKA) – The Pennsylvania Resources Council (PRC) is hosting a hard-to-recycle collection event on Saturday, August 28th from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at Bethel Park High School.

The event will recycle televisions, computer monitors, printers, fluorescent tubes, small Freon appliances, and tires (with and without rims) for a small fee.

The event will also recycle cell/home phones, computer towers and peripheral equipment (keyboards, laptops, mice, etc), expanded polystyrene packaging material, microwave ovens, video game consoles/DVD players, glass bottles, jugs, and jars at no cost.

Anyone wishing to participate in the event must register beforehand by clicking here or calling 412-488-7490×3.

"To streamline the process at PRC events, we continue to require advanced registration for all attendees," according to PRC Deputy Director Sarah Alessio Shea.  "Out of an abundance of caution, we ask participants to pack all materials in their car trunks or truck beds and then stay in their vehicles while the contractor unloads the materials."
