A man involved in a serious harness race accident at The Meadows on Wednesday has died.

Legendary voice of the Meadows, Roger Huston, announced in a Facebook post that harness racing driver Hunter Myers died after sustaining injuries after a collision involving six horses on Wednesday.

Myers was flown to a Pittsburgh-area hospital in critical condition with a brain injury before dying.

Myers was 27.

“Live life to its fullest! You never know what lies ahead,” Houston wrote in a memorial post.

Following the accident, the Meadows Standardbred Owners Association announced that “out of respect” racing has been canceled for the rest of the week at the Washington County track.

According to an interview Myers did with DRF Harness three years ago, he began racing at the age of 16 and has won over 2,000 races in his career.
