Heinz History Center to close due to COVID-19 restrictions

The Heinz History Center and Fort Pitt Museum will both close temporarily due to the recent COVID-19 mitigation restrictions announced by the Wolf administration.

As of Saturday, the museums will be closed to the public through January 3, 2021.

The closure comes as part of COVID-19 restrictions that Governor Tom Wolf announced on Thursday. Among the many restrictions, museums are prohibited from operating.

The new restrictions were deemed necessary by the state because of the spike in COVID-19 cases throughout the state in recent weeks and go into effect at 12:01am on Saturday, December 12 and expire on January 3, 2021
