PITTSBURGH (Newsradio KDKA) - Jackson "Jax" Ramirez, a 6-year-old boy from Pine-Richland, was diagnosed with a serious genetic disorder called IPEX in 2021. IPEX is a super autoimmune bug, targeting different systems and different organs. Without a bone marrow transplant, children are unable to grow and thrive.
The Northern Regional Police Department will host an “Open House” Monday, Dec. 27, in the hopes of bringing people in to get swabbed for a donor match. Police vehicles will be on display and officers are welcoming tours to visitors.
