Another important step for the soon-to-open mobile Hills Snack Bar.
Owner Jason Powell posted on their Facebook page Tuesday they’ve received their health permit.
“Today was a very exciting day! A moment we've been anticipating for a while,....we had our Department of Agriculture "Health Inspection" and we are pleased to finally announce that we are Certified to operate!!!!” Powell posted on Facebook.
Powell is operating out of Beaver County, so he needed a state certification, because Allegheny and Philadelphia Counties are the only ones with its own health departments.
“Like most people who ever shopped at a Hills store as a young kid, it left an everlasting impression on me. I loved going there to shop with my parents and grandparents as a kid,” Powell told KDKA Radio in May.
He’s partnered with the same supplier of the original Hills Snack Bar and plans to have hot dogs, soft pretzels, nachos, cotton candy, and ICEE machine and more.
Grand opening details will be coming soon with Powell expected to start rolling the truck around the area this summer.
