If you live in the Wexford-area then chances are you've enjoyed a meal at Totin's Diner on Perry Highway.
Jim Totin, his wife Joanne, and crew do a fantastic job. Larry and I had the pleasure of broadcasting from the great little diner that feels like a throwback to the 1950's-era on Friday.
The food was phenomenal and the atmosphere felt like family and community - complete with awesome images of Pittsburgh past….and the famous 'Beware of Attack Chef' sign. It should have. After all, this was basically a homecoming show for Larry Richert who grew up and went to school just down the road.
I truly appreciate the warm welcome that so many of you went out of your way to provide.
I really do! The show was also a who's who of the neighborhood…from North Allegheny AD Bob Bozzuto, Representative Rob Mercuri, Coach Dave, former Congresswoman & gubernatorial candidate Melissa Hart, and Senatorial candidate Dave McCormick, Ron Eichner & more - the great guests, friends, and neighbors showed up from everywhere once the doors opened.
It was a lot of fun during a very serious time in world history! And, the food? Great! It is a Friday in Lent so I went with the Omelette Florentine - spinach, garlic, tomato, and provolone cheese topped off with delicious hash browns and a PIEROGI!!!!
A breakfast pierogi, WHAAAT? Solid touch.
Larry scarfed his breakfast down before I could see it but producer Julez had one of the best breakfast sandwiches I have ever seen. I guess the KDKA Radio Morning Show will have to make another visit so that I can try one as well. To Jimmy, Joanne, and everyone in Wexford: Thank YOU for being so welcoming!
