There's hopeful news about Karns City quarterback Mason Martin.
His father says Mason "was awake and alert" Tuesday.
In a Facebook post, Denny Martin said his son is now at UPMC Mercy to begin six weeks of rehab.
Mason collapsed on the field during a game in September, suffering a significant brain bleed and collapsed lung.
Denny says the next six weeks will be challenging. "He needs your strength."
His father finished the message by asking people to "please continue to pray and fight for Mason."
Mason's mother, Stacy, died last month after a long battle with cancer.
A GoFundMe to support the family is still ongoing.
