It's that time of year we have big temperature swings between warm days and cool nights and if you're just flipping the switch without getting your heating system checked, you could be putting your family in danger.
As I learned in the video on this page, I haven't been doing enough on my own to keep up with changing the filters. Brent did a full checkup on my home system which actually has two separate furnaces. It's a service the technicians suggest getting done once a year, or at least every two years to make sure you don't have any gas leaks or other dangerous issues coming up.
While both are in pretty good shape, they did need some cleaning but what we discovered they really needed was new filters.
Apparently, I had no idea I needed to check them every month and replace them more frequently. As Brent explained, a dirty filter can cause your system to work extra hard which can lead to breakdowns. In a worst-case scenario, that could even cause a fire danger.
