Customers that use Giant Eagle Pharmacy now have the opportunity to see big savings on their medications though a partnership with Mark Cuban and his Cost Plus Drug Company.

Cuban's company negotiates prescription prices directly with drug manufacturers and sells them with a 15% markup.

What that means is cheaper prizes for customers.

Examples of the savings include: The generic version of Lipitor sells for $70 retail but the Cost Plus price is $6.32. Metformin, the generic version of Glucophage, sells for about $31 retail but the Cost Plus price is $5.55.

Visit Cuban’s website HERE to see all medications that they have and to sign up for the program.

Once you get your card, you can take it to Giant Eagle to get the lower priced medication.

For senior citizens and others without access to a computer, you can visit a Giant Eagle Pharmacy for assistance setting up an account.

Giant Eagle CEO Bill Artman says the acquisition of new pharmacy customers has been challenging, after taking over many former Rite-Aid prescriptions, but the company has hired nearly 200 former Rite Aid employees this summer, all of whom must complete onboarding and training.
