
Whether you're planning to take to Pittsburgh's three rivers or hitting the road for the 4th of July weekend, state and local law enforcement are asking you to do so safely.
PennDOT, the Pennsylvania Fish & Boat Commission and the Pittsburgh Police are urging everyone to not drive or boat while impaired.
Law enforcement will be targeting impaired drivers throughout the region and state through July 4.
Those who drink should not operate vehicles or watercrafts of any type.
According to PennDOT, during last year's 4th of July holiday week, there were nearly 2,600 vehicle crashes in the state. Of those, 362 involved drugs and/or alcohol. As a result of those crashes, 20 people died.
