PITTSBURGH (Newsradio KDKA) - Pennsylvania state lawmakers launched an effort last week to open future Pennsylvania primary elections to registered unaffiliated voters.
"I think by and large most of the people that are registered Independents lean one way or the other anyway, they just don't like the label," State Senator Dan Laughlin said Wednesday during the KDKIA Radio Morning Show. "This would just give them a chance to participate in the primary system."
Pennsylvania is one of only nine states that bans unaffiliated voters from participating in primary elections.
