A 21-year-old man was shot when he allegedly tried breaking into the apartment of a young woman in Mt. Oliver.
It happened Tuesday morning shortly before 9am. That's when Mt Oliver Police responded to a call on Ormsby Avenue for the shooting.
Allegheny County Police say a 19-year-old woman was confronted by the man after he damaged her vehicle.
According to police, the man gained entry to her secure apartment building and as he tried to get into her apartment, he was shot in the leg by a houseguest of the woman.
The home invasion suspect reportedly fled the scene only to be caught by Pittsburgh Police. He was taken to a hospital in fair condition.
Police are determining whether or not charges will be filed. They say the woman and the 21-year-old man who shot the intruder have cooperated with their investigation.
