A sandwich shop in Southwestern Pennsylvania was ruled out of compliance after an inspection earlier this week following a complaint.
The Department of Agriculture’s Bureau of Food Safety says the Jimmy John’s on Golf View Drive in Monaca, PA had three violations.
Inspectors said several food items were being held at temperatures above the safe temperature of 41 degrees or lower.
Cheese, pasta salad, deli meat, chicken, beef and ham were all being held at 44 degrees. Provolone cheese and salami were also measured above the safe-holding temperature.
The report says the ambient temperature of the cooler was 48 degrees.
All affected food was thrown away during the inspection.
Inspectors also said, “The person in charge failed to perform the duties of the person in charge by operating a food facility with an imminent health risk present, temperature abuse of food products.”
