A fundraiser has been started to honor the life and legacy of Karoline Heintz, the 18-year-old Peters Township graduate who was about to start her first semester at PennWest California.
An 18-year-old male is charged with criminal homicide after Heintz was found dead inside a vehicle near the PennWest California campus last week.
The suspect’s mother is also charged in the crime, accused concealing the crime by disposing of evidence.
HEINTZ REMEMBERED DURING VIGILS
To honor Karoline and “with the blessing of her family” a GoFundMe has been started “to help ensure that Karoline’s memory continues to make a difference in the lives of others.”
Funds raised will be used to establish a scholarship in Karoline’s honor and will also support groups that work to prevent domestic violence and assist victims of it.
“We hope that through these efforts, Karoline's legacy will provide opportunities for young people in the years ahead while also helping individuals and families affected by domestic violence,” the GoFundMe reads.
