A new ice rink opened on top of a building in downtown Pittsburgh.
The apartments known as Kaufmann's Grand added a rooftop ice rink as an amenity for the building's residents. The rink isn't even made of ice. Developers bought a synthetic material that replicates real ice, and patrons can use real ice skates on the surface.
It's also easier to build and maintain, with no Zamboni required.
The rink is not open to the public.
